Items "missing" from Deleted Items folder

I have noticed this morning that items I had in my deleted items folder have
all been removed this morning.

How did this happen? Is there a scheduled remove or archive set up on
Outlook which will remove such items after a certain timeframe?

Hello,

first what version of outlook are you using? If you go to
tools > Options > Other tab and at the very top of that
there is a check box that says "empty deleted items foler
on exit. Make sure that is unchecked. Also the type of
account makes a difference. If your using an exchange
server account I have problems with users all the time
that say they cannot certian folder veiews but it ends up
being the view was change to show new messages only or
someting. Hope this helps.
