I've renumbered the figure numbering in appendix, but it doesn't s

I have a document with appendixes and want to include appendix number such
that Fig 1-1 is in Ch 1, Fig 2-10 is in Ch2, Fig A-1 is in Appendix A, Fig
B-1 is in Appendix B.

I manually changed the ref number for appendix entries according to the KB
article 144082, but when I save and reopen my doc, the A-styleref is
sometimes missing/broken (....not found/not defined). Here's what it looks
like when it works for an appendix:

Figure {STYLEREF \s "Appendix1 \w}- SEQ Figure \*ARABIC \s 1 } A 54 TEK0007

You may want to also post this in the MS Word Numbering
newsgroup (links below) and include the version
fo Word that you're using.
