Jetcomp question ?

I am using Access DB as a Jet DB (DAO) in a VB program. Sometime when I use
the Database/Compact/Repair on the local machine (server if you may call it)
to compact the mdb, some workstation has trouble connecting to the DB. The
message I got from the Err.Description is something like "Database is opened
exclusively by Admin user". The error won't go away even if I restart all
the machine. I have to use Jetcomp to compact it and it will be fine. Does
anyone know why ? The server is XP Home SP2 and the other workstation is XP
Prof XP2. They have different XP updates though.

My next question is: Does anyone have a utility to run the Jetcomp inside a
VB program. I know how to use the Jetcomp, but some users does not know all
the steps involved.

I'd reccomend moving to Access Data Projects

there are things such as the 'database maintenance wizard' that will
automate all of this type of stuff
