Jpeg image does not print correctly on our PostScript printer

We have scanned a document on a flatbed scanner and saved it as a Jpeg file. We then inserted the Jpeg into a Word 2003 document as a Picture > From file. when we print this document on our Canon ImageClass C2100 PS printer, the Jpeg image is replicated up to 7 or 8 times on the same page. The 8 instances are squished vertically to fit them on the same page. The document prints out perfectly normal on our HP laserjet printer.

Any one else have a similar problem and solution

Thanks

FWIW, I'm having the same problem on an HP DeskJet 6122 (but not on the LJ
4100). I usually get 2-6 copies. The only solution I've found is to resave
as a TIF, which is not very satisfactory. This happens only with scanned
images saved as JPEGs from Corel PhotoPaint; JPEGs I acquire from other
sources print fine.

Also happens when exporting then inserting from Adobe
Photoshop Album. Export as JPEG gives multiple,
compressed images. Export as TIF is just fine.
Interestingly, drag and drop from Adobe straight into Word
(which I'm guessing cuts and pastes the JPEG without
saving it to disk) works just fine. Problem with
inserting from disk?

I found if you change the print driver to print directly
to print instead of spool(advanced settings in PS driver)
the jepg prints out correctly. This is just a quick
fix.... Because in the work envir. I'm in this slow down
printing. But its a fix... Making PDF's works as well...
Let me know if you have had any luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I'll have to experiment with this next
time. Oddly, my LaserJet (PS/PCL) has no problem with this--only the
DeskJet.
