Large Document and Publisher 2007

I believe I read in here somewhere that Pub 2007 was not the
application of choice when creating a large document - 60 pages or so
plus index. What Microsoft product would be the application of choice?
And is the fact that Pub does not create an index them main reason?

Hey, you can create as many pages as you need in Publisher, but it isn't nearly
as friendly as Word for long documents. And, yes, Publisher does not create
indexes.

Can the word document then be imported into publisher, if you also
need to create the document in booklet form and sent to a commerical
printer?

Not really. There isn't really a Microsoft application of choice for
long documents that are to end up in published form - there's always a
trade-off of some sort.

You could create in Word and then run the document through a separate
imposition-type app such as FinePrint, or you could switch to a
higher-level DTP application - but these are more expensive, and have a
steeper learning curve.

Thanks Ed,

Guess I'll take a peek at Quark Express then...
