Launching Excel file - not showing data

Trying to launch an Excel file (from Outlook, server, HD etc) and Excel
launches but does nothing more than bring up the very bottom toolbar and the
top menus etc (basically, most of the icons/menus etc down to the grid). If
I click the View menu and select, eg, "full screen", all of my data appears
but it will only appear if I manipulate the software - will not launch all
data automatically. A reinstall helped this before but it's started again.

Thanks

I would suspect a problem with the video drivers on the PC are not the
correct ones for the card that's installed. Try checking the
manufactures web site for more current version and install them.

Thanks Bob - but I'm not sure this is what the problem will be (I'll check it
later - it's not my pc that the problem is on).

I omitted to say in the original post that if you open Excel first and then
File, Open, the same file which will not launch correctly will open ok......
Any other ideas if it's not the video driver?

Just a guess, given the additional info, do you happen to be running an
anti-virus that "scans" your files when you open them. Perhaps the
Norton Office-plugin? If so dis-able it.
