level resource from gantt

is there any way to level a specific resource from the Gantt view? for
example, if i select 3 tasks and change their calendars, then I want to
re-level that resource so there aren't over/under allocations. I know i can
do this from the resource view, but i'm hoping to do it using vba from the
Gantt view.

thanks

Hi,
Why would you redirect him to the WRONG NG? He wans to use VBA, so he is in
the right NG here.
Actually, the only way I see is to set CanLevel to No for all resources but
the one you want to level, then level now All:=true.
Hope this helps,

Sure. The view doesn't really play a part in this at all once you have
decided which tasks. Once you have the tasks you can derive the resources
and assignments but you need to provide more information about how you want
to relevel. It could be quite a complicated algorithm.

We decided that individual tasks needn't be changed, only resources. So
right now i have a combo box which allows the manager to pick a resource and
pick a calendar. the macro then changes that resources calendar and
eliminates all newly created slack time between tasks. It works beautifully
for now, but i fear a scenario in which it may not put tasks exactly as we
would want them. we would like to have it always schedule tasks with earlier
deadlines first, followed by longer durations if tasks have the same deadline
(i.e. total slack). Is there a way to ensure it always schedules in this
manner? when would it ever put a job with less slack after a job with more
slack?

thanks
