First of all, in the future please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. Second, to level
overallocated resources that are overallocated across multiple projects, you
will need to do the following:

1. Open all projects containing overallocated resources.
2. Level in a resource View, such as the Resource Usage view.
3. Level only a few resources at a time, focusing on your most critical
resources first.

Do know this, however: leveling is hard enough to do in only a single
project. Leveling across multiple projects is far more challenging, and
perhaps even impossible. Hope this helps.

Hi, sorry for posting it here, I'll post the same there too,
thank you for the help, but, my concerns is for multiple enterprise
projects,
the problem I'm facing is not with the leveling but with saving and
publishing after the leveling, here are the steps I do:
1- I open the project web access.
2- select the projects from the project view.
3- I click on Edit in project.
4- after opening them in one project, I can do the leveling.
5- here comes the hard part, i want to save the project i've done the
changes in, then i want to publish the new and changed assignments.
I cant do number 5 up, unless i save the mega project where all the
small projects are open, which i don't want. for sure, this will end up
with a mess with all my tasks.
the best way I can see is to save each file which undergoes the changes
due to leveling, then re open it alone and click on the publish new and
changed assignments.
this would be ok if we are talking about 4 or even 10 projects, but
here in my company i'm facing 100+ projects,
any ideas,
thanks in advance,

Hi asaleh,

No point in posting here, try posting on the server newsgroup. Please see

For the life of me, I cannot possibly imagine anyone leveling
overallocations in 100+ projects with any success at all. If you pull this
off, you are a better person than I. Anyway, to answer your question,
because you are using Project Server 2003, you cannot save and publish the
master project consisting of the 100+ projects. The best you can do is to
close the master project without saving it, and then when prompted, click
the Yes to All button to save the leveling changes in all the subprojects.
From there, you will still need to open and publish each project, or have
the PM's do this. Hope this helps.
