license question

My employer provides both Microsoft Office and Visio
Professional on our systems at work. I would also like to
have these programs at home (when I am burning the
midnight oil), but do not want to purchase them myself. I
was told by a fellow employee that Microsoft allows you to
install its products on a home and work computer (using
the same license), but my system administrator disagrees.
Does anyone have any knowledge in this area. Thanks in
advance.

Your sys admin is correct.
Although with versions prior to XP it is technically possible to do so, it
is a breach of the licensing...
If it is for your employers benefit they should have no problems with
providing you with a licensed version.
Or a laptop!!!
