Line Spacing Problem. HELP!!!

how come my line spacing in word documents looks like this by default?

i checked my line spacing options and everything seems to be okay

does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

The only thing I see that may have a bearing on the issue is that you have
Asian Typography rules enabled. Ordinarily I'd suggest checking the vertical
alignment of the document (Layout tab of Page Setup), but your screen shot
doesn't seem to suggest that it might be set to Justified.
