Line Styles in MS Word

Hi! I am in a new document and would like to utilize the Line Style.
However, when I go onto the Drawing Toolbar, and click on Line Styles, none
of the sytles are bolded to choose, and are greyed out. How do I get them to
bold to utilize? I have Windows XP and am in MS Office that came loaded.

The lines styles are not enabled unless you have a line selected. Draw a
line, then format it.
