lines greyed out

In a word document, I need to make some thick lines between sections /
figures for an invoice.

But when I click on 'drawing' and 'lines' (that being the different
thickness lines) they are greyed out and dont seem to be accessible. Are
they hidden? How do I enable them please?

Many thanks in advance

You have to draw a line before you can define its weight. But for this
application I would avoid drawing objects and use a paragraph border instead
(or set the invoice up as a table and apply borders to selected rows/cells,
which is the standard layout for an invoice).
