Link PPT notes to Word

PowerPoint 2000 and/or 2002

A user wants to the attached Notes in a PowerPoint presentation, not just
the slides, to a Word document. Is this possible? If so, directions would
be helpful. Thank you!

Hmmm, this seems like an odd question because in 2003 the first and third
options include the notes (notes next to the slide or notes below the
slides) when choosing File > Send To > Microsoft Office Word. Is it
different in 2002 and 2000?

Yes, the notes go the FIRST time, when you create the Word document. TAfter
that, the slides update the changes but the notes do not update. I've tried
"Sent to Word" from PP. I've also inserted Object from within Word but the
notes do not come that way at all, never mind updating them.

Aha! I knew there had to be more to this question. When you send to Word,
you are creating a completely new unlinked file in Word. If the
PowerPoint file gets updated, you need to Send to Word again to make a
new Word document. I don't know of a way to link the notes portion of a
PowerPoint document to Word so that it will update automatically.
Perhaps, someone else in the group does.

Exactly - the slide is linked but the notes are not. Hope someone can
either confirm "working as designed" or provide some insight.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Working as designed, not designed for your way of working though. :-(

The slides are PPT slide objects once they get in Word but the text is just
text, as though you'd typed it yourself in Word.

Yes, working as designed. (Just not designed very well.)

You can update slides content if you've chosen Paste Link when sending to
Word, but you cannot update speaker notes. If you add/delete/reorder slides,
those changes will not update, either, even if you have chosen paste link
when sending.
