Link to Photoshop?

Windows XP Pro SP2, Publisher 2003, Photoshop CS

I scanned an image of the upper right corner my keyboard into Photoshop CS.
I cropped, and adjusted the brightness and copied to the Clipboard in
Photoshop. Then did and paste into my Publisher document. Now when I print,
Photoshop opens, the page prints. I save and close the document and close
Publisher. Then try to close Photoshop.

Photoshop returns with "Could not complete your request because the client
application is not responding. Save the document from the client
application."

I click OK.

I can't close Photoshop without a visit to the Windows Task Manager and
forcing the close.

Any help appreciated.

What happens if you save your Photoshop CS image as an eps/gif/jpg etc to
say, the My Pictures folder. then open Publisher and insert the scanned
image from the Insert > Picture > From File and browse to your My Pictures
folder and select the image.

Essentially, in this copy/paste from Photoshop CS to Publisher you created
an OLE link, which allows Publisher to "contain" the image because Publisher
doesn't support PS files natively. There have not been any OLE improvement
in Publisher (Office), and I don't foresee any in the near future. As for
the error message, you could look to the Photoshop group if you are intent
on using the clipboard. Publisher does not support native PS files, and it
sounds like the clipboard is unable to convert the PS image to a wmf file
for pasting.

Easy solution:

Open the image in PS and save it. Import it into Pub. Using copy/paste
is an accident waiting to happen.

However, they need to save it (as I mentioned) in a format other than PS.
