Linkbar problem: FP2002

Pete

The linkbar button image for the page I am on is missing in the Normal
and Preview views in FP BUT when I display the page in IE OR upload it
to the web, the image is not missing. Can anyone tell me how to fix
this?

Thanks.

All of the links are listed properly on the Navigation view. It is the
image of the link to the page I am currently on that is missing. For
example, if I'm on the default.htm (1st page) then the linkbar image for
this page is missing and shows up black space with a small box and red
cross in the top left hand corner. It's the same for all other pages
too. I tried deleting the links and joining them again and the problem
persists.

Thanks for your help thus far...

sounds like the "target link" for the image is wrong. HGve you moved the image itself- into another
folder recently? Did it ever work? Or has it been this way since you tried uploading it?
Also- check the name of the image for capitol letters. I have trouble with my FP- changing the case
of the files and images during upload. IE: "IMAGE24.JPG" becomes "image24.jpg" and that causes the
link to not work.

Thanks Ray. The problem is new and I fear I have deleted something
important. I cannot see the required image in the _derived folder where
I suspect it used to reside quite happily. Is there an easy way to
recreate the link bars and hence the images?

Having said that, I just downloaded all the images from my
well-functioning website and placed them back into the _derived folder
and this did NOT fix the problem. Moreover, I deleted the entire linkbar
and tried to recreate it. This time NONE of the images displayed. So it
does sound like some form of link problem but I don't know enough about
how FP works to investigate any further.

post here- or e-mail me the URL to the page/website, so I can see what you are talking about.. It
will help me focus on the design of the "linkbar".. perhaps I can see something you don't..

It's in my signature below Ray.

Remember, the uploaded version works fine as it does if I view the FP
webpage in IE - it just doesn't show in the Normal view within FP
itself.

I believe that it WON'T show in the "Normal" pane- because it's a javascript webbot (hover-button),
it isn't really an "image" even though it's referenced as a .gif. It's like opening the same .gif in
an image program (like Photoshop)- it won't be displayed as a "hoverbutton"- only as a .gif. The
"normal" pane does not run the script like a browser does. That's why the preview pane works(using
IE), as well as the uploaded version, but not the "normal" view.

Thanks for your help Ray. I'm not too bothered about it now because it
uploads properly. It's just annoying because it used to display
properly. As I said earlier, this is a new phenomenon.
