Linking multiple projects

Jenn

Hi! I need to link certain tasks from multiple projects into a new project.
So basically not the whole project iteself going to a master but slected
tasks from each going to a single project. How do I do this?
Thanks in advance!

Jenn,
Ok, your post asks a specific how to but what we really need to know is,
what is the end goal? In other words, why do you think you want to pull
individual tasks from several individual projects and put them into a
new project?

The reason for this is the following. Most of the time there are several
ways to accomplish an end goal. By concentrating on a specific method
for achieving the goal, a much better (i.e. easier, faster, more
efficient) solution may be overlooked. Therefore from my view, we need
to draw more information out of you before we can help with the best
solution.

Jenn,
Just based on your second post, why not build a master file with
inserted subprojects and then apply a filter or grouping to only show
the tasks of interest to each customer? Then the question is, should it
be a dynamic master (active links to subprojects) or a static master
(snapshot in time).

Jenn,
Wow, at first I though that answer might be too obvious but it just
shows to go ya.

P.S. You're welcome

Hi,

When inserting the project, uncheck "Link to Project"
Once it is inserted, you can call the task infdormation for the header task,
and in the tab Advanced, check out "Link to Project"
