Linking Project to Excell

I have a spread sheet that contains all my data for a project file. I
created a new map to inport the information into a project file. the
information in the excell spread sheet changes... My question is.. is there
a way to update the project file with out having to do the file open, select
the spread sheet, use an existing map and go trhough all of those steps?
seems like you should be able to link project and excell in a similar you
would link excel and word. Am I way off base here?

You can copy and paste links between the two just like in word, but those
sorts of links are fragile and difficult to troubleshoot when they are
broken.
I typically don't bother with them.

I agree with Jack, copy paste special is fragile (don't even think of taking
either file away on a laptop).

Best solution is a VBA macro to import what you want if opening with a map
is to much work.
