Linking tables

I have a large number of tables linked to a database.
Sometimes i need to reset all of the links to the same
tables in a second copy of the database.

Sometimes Access only requires me to select the new
database once and it seems to know that they all come from
the same table.
At other times I have to reselect the same source database
for each table being relinked. This involves alot of mouse
work and could lead to mistakes.
Why does Access behave differently on what seems to be the
same task.
Is there a way to set the default directory for the
database to where the data is, rather than MyDocuments

Go to the Tools/Options general tab and chage location of
the default database to the one desired
