Linking Work column to start and finish dates

I've set up a plan and copied a portion of another plan into it. The
upper portion of the plan has the work (person-hours) driving the start
and finish dates. However, in the bottom portion of the plan these do
not link and if I put in 25 hours for a task the dates do not change.
Wondering how to correct this problem.

Thanks in advance for any insight into the issue.

Hi Steve,

I must admit I don't understand much bout upper and lower part of the plan.
Just to make sure, in Tools, Options, Calculation, is calculation set to
automatic?
