List Paragraphy style does not automatically apply to lists

Hi guys,

I have created a custom style for my "Normal" paragraphs. This style
has a 12 point space after each paragraph. For my bulleted lists I
don't want that space to appear.

If I watch the normal behaviour of the default Word template, any
bulleted lists I create automatically switch to the "List Paragraph"
style, so that they have got less space after each paragraph than the
"Normal" style. I like that behaviour, but for some reason it doesn't
happen in my customised document anymore.

How can I ensure that any bulleted lists I create automatically switch
to the "List Paragraph" style?

Thanks for the help.

Why not just apply a custom bulleted style (such as List Bullet) with the
paragraph spacing defined as you want it?

That's what I am doing at the moment, but I preferred the default
behaviour where I did not always have to select a separate style for
the bulleted lists. I can't figure out why that behaviour is not
working anymore.

One place to check: The Word options > Editing options section; make sure the
checkbox for "Use Normal style for bulleted list" is clear. Another: The
settings of the List paragraph style; make sure that the checkbox for "Don't
add space between paragraphs of the same style" is checked.
