Loading Publisher 2000 W/Office XP

On my new machine I have Office XP Standard, V-2002 with
no Publisher. I also own a copy of Office 2000 upgrade
with Publisher. When I try to load the publisher 2000
upgrade it does not recognize the newer XP 2002 as a
valid product. I also have a copy of my old Office 98 CD
which I use to be able to put in the CD drive to get the
2000 verson to run, but not now. Is there a way to get my
Publisher 2000 upgrade to load with Office XP short of
unloading the XP?

Thanks.

It won't recognize the newer version as acceptable for an older
upgrade.

Have you tried to insert the Office 98 CD and pointing to it when your
install asks where the qualifying software is? If so, specifically
what is the response?

Er, Jo, if it really is Office 98, then of course it's not going to work -
you can't use a Mac application as a qualifier for a PC upgrade! ;o)

She said that cuz Office 98 is for the Mac platform only.

That really could cause issues, couldn't it? You don't think the OP
missed that little thing, do you?

Judging by some of the posts we get here, I really wouldn't be at all
surprised! ;o) <eg>

Actually the older application is Office 4.3 Pro and Bookshelf.
On my old system it worked to load my Office 2000 upgrade.
It is a PC application not MAC. Sorry about the confusion.
