Hi,

I would like to use a single Global.mpt file on a network share in our
Intranet rather than each Project user using the Global.mpt on their
desktop.

I have found the following article that advises that a registry entry is
required. Trouble is I do not know how to set this registry entry. Can
anyone please point me to where I can get instructions for doing this or
advise directly how to do it. I have attempted to do this using "Regedit"
but am unable to add the "Value" entry.

Thanks,

Steve.

How Microsoft Project locates a global file
When Microsoft Project 2002 is opened, it first tries to locate a global
file using the Root Key policy registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\MS
Project\GlobalSearchData: RootKeyValue: <Full path to Global.mpt>Type:
REG_SZThe Administrator can set this key to point to a particular location
for Global.mpt

If Microsoft Project finds that this registry key is set and it finds a
Global.mpt at the location it points to, it boots using that Global.mpt.
