lock shape/object position

Other than placing objects on a master page, can shapes, text boxes and other
objects have their position protected to prevent from accidental
repositioning - sort of like you can do in Visio for example? This feature is
available in Adobe InDesign (and other products) and is very useful.

Hi Mary,

Even though the following rebate coupons are
on the Amazon and Tiger Direct sites they appear
to be standard forms and are dated to expire on
Dec. 31, 2006. They also contain the 800 number
for the Microsoft rebate center so I think they are
valid.

Thank you for your response Mary. True, Publisher offers a definite price
advantage when compared to Adobe's professional products. However, Microsoft
regularly solicits suggestions for product enhancements as I am sure you are
aware. I am merely tendering this as an idea for Publisher's future. After
all, Visio offers such capability, Excel offers cell protection and neither
approach the price of InDesign or the other quoted products. Publisher does
many things better than InDesign...tqables, for example. Rather than close
one's eyes to the possibilities, consider a real Publisher Professional
edition. This isn't a new concept to Microsoft...look at the tiered approach
to Visio, Office and .Net developer products.

Microsoft have dropped support for MSWish - posting a "Suggestion" from
the web interface is now the 'official' way of doing things. Stuff
posted to MSWish now goes into even more of a black hole than it did before!
