Locking a publisher document

I am going to be placing something on a network drive that will be created in
Publisher, I would like to lock it so that it can not be edited by others who
will be viewing it. Is this possable. I do not want to read write protect it.

If you keep the document open on one machine, it is very unlikely that any
other users will be able to modify the file. It's a quirk of Publisher's.

Otherwise, controlling file access is done at the operating system level,
not in Publisher. You should probably set up a folder for which only you
have read-write access, with other users having read-only access.
