Locking cells

Is it possible to have a worksheet Read-only and have a
few cells open to data entry? I sorry, I don't have a
better explaination than that.

I have a worksheet that I do not want users to be able to
change the formula but they need to fill in certain cells.

Thanks for checking it out. I appriciate it.

Hi
try the following
- select your 5 cells which should be accessible
- goto 'Format - Cells - Protection' and uncheck 'Protection' for these
cells
- Goto 'Tools - Protection' and protect your sheet/workbook

Hi jwillie!

By default when you protect a sheet all cells in the sheet are locked.

Before protecting the sheet use, select the cells you will allow
access to and use:

Format > Cells > Protection
Remove check from "Locked"
OK

Now use:

Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet
Give and confirm password [optional]
OK
