Locking PowerPoint 2002 Toolbars?

R

rlindau

My employer recently reimaged my business laptop. Since then, I find that
the changes I make to the PPT toolbars that display (and their locations)
don't "stick" from session to session. I don't see a menu option to lock the
toolbars. I'd think there is such a thing - can someone point me to it if
so? Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry you are having a rough go of it. The default behavior is for all
toolbars to remain where they were left, unless something else moves them.
Are all of the toolbars reverting or is there just one or two that are?

If you do not have rights to write the tool bar file type or to the location
where the toolbar file is located, than your updates can't be saved. In
this case, blame the computer department for excessively tight lock-down of
the computer. Usually, if you ask them nice, buy them a Dew, and explain
your real need in their terms; they will try to help.

If, on the other hand, just one or two toolbars are resetting, than they may
be being repositioned by an add-in. Try opening PowerPoint in safe mode, or
remove all the add-ins (per the instructions with the add-ins).

Post back and let us know how you are making out with this, ok?
