Again in IE (not FP)
Have you selected Clear Passwords in Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete
- even though you apparently do not have it set to save passwords
And set your Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet > Custom Level to Prompt for User Name and password

Also, if on a domain, check Control Panel > User Accounts > Advanced > Manage Passwords

Thanks I will give that a try (registry)

In terms of Front Page are there any files that hold password / user name
that reside on my system and I can remove ?

None that I have ever come across.

Search for Recent Web List

You should see a list of site and it's User ID, but not the password.
