Lost fonts

Our IT manager recently installed some extra fonts for a user on her laptop.
She used a few, saved her work and shut down. When she started up and opened
the document, the text displayed looks like Times New Roman but states it is
the new font. Different Office programs don't even show the fonts in their
lists. We checked and the fonts are located in C:\Windows\Fonts along with
all her other fonts. The new fonts are Tyue Type fonts. How do we get them
to display in the lists and on the screen properly?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Draft font" box
| OK. If that doesn't help, then click on Start | Control Panel |
Printers, and select a printer that is capable of printing fonts (not
Fax or Generic/TextOnly).

Thanks for this but it didn't help. The Draft Font box was already unchecked
and the default printer is already capable of printing fonts.

Any other ideas would be greatfully accepted.

Hi J.A.,

Check in Word in File=>Print that the printer selected
there is the one that can print truetype fonts.
If so, then with the document that is a problem open
check in Word in Tools=>Options=>Compatability=>
[Font Substitution] to see if it lists any fonts
as substituted (not available).
