lost registration key...

Dan

I have the original cd... even have it loaded on one
machine.... because of recent viruses and the age of the
machine 18 months now... I want to reformat and reinstall
everything again... I have Publisher 2000 but cant seem
to locate the right registration key ... in fact even
when I view the PID in the "about" window it gives me a
number but the MS tech support online questionaire says
it is invalid... I want to reformat but I need a valid
key # I have several shelves full of software and lots of
key numbers but none seem to be the correct one. Its
confusing... need a better way to manage this... I use
office mostly but I need Publiser for a few projects.

JoAnn,

He wants to "reformat and reinstall" not install on a second machine.
That's legal.

Using Pub 2000 here and to help you find your Product Key, it looks
like a Windows ProductKey, 5 groups of 5 alphanumeric characters.
This should make it nearly unique in the list of reg and product keys
on your list.

Load and run Belarc advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html Might
be worth a try! If it was installed as part of Office it will come up as
Office disk 2.
