lost symbol menu

my symbol menu has disappeared. re-instaling ms office makes no difference. how can I reinstate it?

Reinstalling is never a fix for much of anything as it isn't the application
files that have the problem - and that's all reinstalling replaces,,, in
fact it doesn't even replace them if you don't run the Remove Office utility
first. Make sure you've also applied all updates for Office as reinstalling
reverts to what's on the CD & can cause other problems. Additionally, run
Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions afterward.

The first step to address the toolbar will then be to launch Word & go to
View> Toolbars< Customize Toolbars/Menus. On the Toolbars page click the
name of he Menu Bar then click the Reset button. If that doesn't restore it
post back for additional steps.
