When i do a Replace All in Mac Word 2008 it often does not replace all
the occurences, or when I do a Replace All and then change part of the
word in the Find and Replace windows it crashes. Very frustrating

This is consistent with my own and others' observations. See this
thread for a fuller discussion of the Find and Replace bug:

And don't forget to report it to Microsoft. (Use the Send Feedback
option in Word menus).

As Patricio says, you need to report this to Microsoft.

I would report it as two separate issues. We may be able to help you with
the first issue (not replacing all).

Generally, Word is very good at that, so you may find that it is hidden
characters such as spaces or tracked changes that are getting in the way.
Turn your Show/Hide button on when you are setting up a Search/Replace, so
you can see what you are doing properly.

Word will find/replace only VISIBLE text, so if you have any text hidden, it
will not participate in the Find/Replace.

The crashing issue is something else. That's a bug, and I agree with
Patricio, you should report it as he suggests.

Cheers
