macro keyboard shortcut

Is there a way to:
(1) assign a keyboard shortcut to a macro after it has been recorded?
(2) use something other than command+option+letter as the shortcut?

Thanks.

Try Tools> Customize Keyboard. Select Macros in the left list of Categories,
then select your macro from the right list and use any key combination you
wish. If the combo is already in use the dialog will tell you & you can
reassign it if you wish.

Tools menu => Customize => Customize keyboard => scroll down the left-hand
(Categories) list to macros. A list of macros appears on the right. Select.

Yes. Just do it once you click in the "Press new shortcut key" box.

You can use any combination of modifier keys. I tend to use
Control-Option-Command as modifiers for the keyboard shortcuts I make myself
-- easier to remember that way. That combination might seem complex, but in
practice it simply amounts to holding down those three adjacent modifier
keys in a row, using three or four of your fingers -- whatever fits!

I like the 3-key option!
BTW, is there a way to do this in Excel? I looked for the same
keyboard customization, but macros weren't on the list.
Thanks!

In Excel go to Tools>Macro>Macros, select the macro from the list & click
the Options Button.
