macro security settings

Is there a way to run a check upon opening a template to determine if the
computer it is loading on has the securities set to medium prior to opening
the new document?

If the template is located in the templates folder, then the code in the
template will be available to a document created from that template (using
File>New) regardless of the macro security setting.

The ordinary user should not need to open a template by using File>Open.

Thanks Doug,
My question comes because I had a user open a template from the template
folder, she had her security set on 'High', the template opened as a .doc and
quietly disabled all macros. Since the template normally opens with a
UserForm requiring selections be made, it gave her the entire document
without any macro options or functionality. We simply changed her settings
when she called for help and it worked fine, but I want to avoid someone else
having the same issue as there are many users of this particular template.
(She is running XP, both operating and Office, but we have users using 2000,
XP and 2003. The template was built in 2003)

Thanks in advance for any additional insight on this situation.

If she used File>Open, that is what I would expect to happen. She should be
using File>New
