Macro tutorial and examples for MS Word

Hello,
I have to teach about Macro´s and I don´t get much information about them.
Where can I see the different ways and exaples of recording a Macro and
different codes in Visual basic.
For exaple: If I want to delete <> these characters froman e-mail and delete
all the returns in order to make the document shorter, how could I do it?
Where could I get a tutorial and examples of these things?
