Mail Merge with Access 2002 database that requires login

Charles LEE

I am using MS Word 2002.

I wish to establish a mail merge where I can list several
items for one particular category. The data source comes
from an MS Access 2000 database established by me (I am
the only system administrator) and shared with other user
who are required to log in.

I tried the compound merge methods shown on Leigh Weber's
website, so that category information can be put together
in a table. I used 'Insert->Function->Datebase' method and
followed the instructions provided by. However, I received
an error message 'Word was unable to open the data source'
when I used either OLE DB/ODBC as the link or used DDE and
then inserted the data as a function.

On the other hand, I can insert the same datasheet without
categorization when using DDE method, only to find that
the table is not spilt.

Can anyone help me?

Hi Charles,

Somehow seemed to miss this message when it was new...

Are you still here, still looking for some help?

What do you mean, at the end, about inserting the table
without categorization, and that it won't split? I'm not
quite following you, here.
