Mail Merge

I'm doing a mail merge and I want add Fill-in for each recipients. After I add the infor ?, in the promt box, the promt box show up in beginning. It doesn't promt for each update and I didn't check the box that said Ask Once.. What can I do to get it to promt for each update.can I disable it some where or what .why it not promt
