Mail stuck in outbox will not delete

A large file was created by a client on his Xp operating
system. THe file is too large to complete at 190Mb.
Every time Outlook is opened the MAPI spooler starts and
will not allow the file to be deleted.
As he is connected to the Web his PC gets slower and
slower. Until he forces a close of OUTLOOK.

HOW do we delete the file in outlook?
How do we keep MAPI spooler from runnning so that we can
delete the outbox item?

Has anyone posted a fix yet? I have the exact same
problem; a msg. with large attachments. It continues to
try to send but I can't delete it. Meanwhile the compute
speed is severely compromised while Outlook is open.

I just want to delete the file.
