mailto: Question

Anatoly Kurilin

Hi, putting the text "mailto:" followed by address into Location of Default
hyperlink calls the new Outlook Express message with that address in it.
Great. But is there any way to put initial words into the Subject of this
new message? I need it to fight spam messages.

Thank in advance,
AK

The best way to fight spam is to not use mailto: or the FP
form handler for email. I use a form and set the form to
post to a custom ASP page which generates the email.

You can preload the email with a subject (or body, cc, or
bcc) by using the ? tag. However, the client can change the
subject if so desired.

mailto:[email protected]?subject=NotSpam

You don't say which version of FrontPage, but there should be a subject box in the hyperlink
properties for a mailto link.

Anatoly,

Your welcome.
I do not consider that arrogance. You were aware of an
issue and you sought to resolve it. You were also smart
enough to give enough detail in your original post so that I
could figure out what you really needed.
