Major TAPI Driver Problem within Outlook 2003

I have a major issue with a newly installed TAPI driver, within Outlook 2003.
We recently installed an Avaya IP Office system and each workstation was
supplied a CD to install both the Phone Manger software (a soft-phone
application) and a TAPI driver. This TAPI driver will allow you to
automatically dial a contact, within Outlook, on your phone.

All installed well and going into Control Panel, Phones/Modems, Advanced
tab, shows the TAPI driver (AVAYA TAPI) as a legitimate item and it did
configure with PBX options. Then I went into Outlook, went into Contacts,
right clicked a Contact and tried to dial them. I had to change the default
'line' from H232 (or something like that, I'm doing this from memory at the
house) and the Avaya driver was there. It worked! BUT; later in the day, I
had to reboot the computer. After this, the driver was never available as a
line/device within Outlook. However, it IS there under Control Panel and it
does offer the configuration options. It simply won't reappear under
Outlook, no matter how many reboots.

So, is this an Outlook setting or does someone know how uninstall this
driver? If you simply delete it within Control Panel, Phones/Modems,
Advanced, I think XP Pro is just 'parking' it somewhere, because if you say
'ADD' it appears as an option again. I can't tell if this is a setting in
Outlook or what!!!?????

ANY help would be most appreciated!

Thank you.

If you go into system properties where the Avaya Driver is, right click on
the device and then select "roll back driver" or "update driver". If you
update the driver, you will need to insert your CD again to complete the
installation. See if that works. The second option could be restoring your
registry to a prior date and or resetting outlook's registry files. You might
also want to contact Avaya on this issue too, as it sounds like a driver
interaction problem with something in your components on the computer.
