make inserted photos the size I want

When I insert a photo from a filre into a frame on my page it is often far
too big. How can I get it to be the size I want it to be? I have tried
dragging the corners of the frame but that only shifts it across the page and
I need to reduce the size.

I can't duplicate your problem on my Publisher 2003 or 2007 system. I have
created a blank picture frame and inserted an image into it and the picture
took the size of the frame. I could then resize the frame. I could also
insert a picture from file directly onto the page and resize without issue.

When you click on the picture and get the round resize handles you have to
make sure that the cursor changes from a 4 headed arrow labeled "Move" to a
two headed arrow labeled "Resize". If you are placing the cursor directly
on the corner resize handles and it isn't changing to Resize cursor before
clicking the mouse, let us know. Also let us know the version of Publisher
you are using, along with the operating system it is installed in.

Also, are you trying to put a picture in a text box? Be sure you are using
Insert/ Picture/Empty Picture Frame and not just drawing a textbox.

Any case, if picture is huge, if you have a scroll mouse press CTRL on
keyboard and use scroll wheel to resize page quickly to get a grip on the
picture. You can put anything you want in the light blue desktop region
(within Publisher, not your Windows desktop), and having a picture hang over
onto the desktop doesn't hurt anything.

I'm not the one having the issues. You should have replied to the OP not
me. Of course, if you weren't using the terrible web interface but actually
used a news reader such as Outlook Express or Windows Mail or some of the
other fine newsreaders, you would have known you were posting a reply to me
instead of the OP, where I am sure you wanted the post to go.
