Hello. Have situation (which is actually a good on) in which the company is
continually adding to staff in different areas due to growth and is now
looking for a way to allow training the new people. The current A2003 app is
the primary db that is used (front end with sql 2005 back end).
What was discussed is to have a button on the main menu form that will
change the current live production app over to a training app. Basically, it
would be the same front end connecting to a training back end. But, the
front end needs to made obvious to anyone. It was mentioned to make the
background color of all the forms that are used a different color, flashing
sign in a corner, or anything else that would be an attention getter. One
scenario mentioned was if the user is making a new device and was using the
production app and wanted to try the making on the training app, they would
click a button on the main menu and all would change. They "practice" the
process steps on the training to make sure they are correct and click a
button on the main menu to go back to the live production app. For a
scenario like this, can it be done with the forms open?
What I am wondering is if others out there have had to do something similar
and if so what/how was done?
