Manifest.xsf and other files

I know how to extract the files that are in the .xsn file. But I have
questions concerning changes made to the manifest.xsf and other files.

1. When I save the form in InfoPath design view are the changes in the files
automatically put back into the template..xsn?
2. When I open the template will the manifest and other files that I
extracted to my hard drive get extracted or updated automatically?
3. Will I need to extract them each time I open the form in design mode?

Once extracted, you open the manifest.xsf to work on the extracted files or
work directly on the extracted files. The old XSN will not be updated. All
files linked to the manifest.xsf will be updated. Once you're done, you open
the manifest.xsf, and in InfoPath you publish your form template. This will
repackage the extracted files into an XSN. If you want to work on extracted
files again, you will have to re-extract the files from the latest repackaged
XSN and do the same thing all over again.
