When I launch Outlook 97 the MAPISP32 immediately hogs the CPU time. Does
anybody have any suggestions on fixing this?

Thx

Hi Ted. I had the same issue and found the fix.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, rename the Mapi32.dll file and
then reinstall
Outlook to place a new copy of Mapi32.dll on your
computer.

To rename the Mapi32.dll file:
Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or
Folders.
In the Named box, type Mapi32.dll.
In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click
Find Now.
Right-click the Mapi32.dll file, click Rename, and then
type Mapi32.old.
Press ENTER to accept the name change.
If there are multiple copies of Mapi32.dll, rename them
all.

Tried your solution and it didn't work. I've reinstalled the Office package
and still no resolution. Where else should I look? I've exhausted every
solution I know.

Problem solved. The user had a bad (stuck) email at our ISP. Once we
cleared his waiting emails, Outlook started preforming normally.

Thx
