Mark project plan as readonly

We have some projects are beling placed on hold, and we don't want
people to make changes to the project plan until the project is
reactivated.

Is there anyway to mark the project plan as read-only so that no one
can open it in an editable mode?

First, there is no need to double post - we got it the first time.
Project files can be set for read only. Just go to File/Save
As/Tools/General Options. Be advised that a user can always save the
file under a new name and then edit it, but of course that won't change
your "master".

Under File, Save as there is a Tools button in the top right corner.
Click on it and select General Options
Enter a write password. That way anyone can open it, but only someone with
the password can save it.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. We still want to keep the
project plan in the project centre, namely, the database, not to save
it as a file.
