Mass Category Change in Contacts

Bob

I have Outlook 2003. I have many contacts with a user-defined
category. I want to remove the category from all the contacts without
going through each one. How do I do that?

Thanks.

Select all of the contacts, right click, Categorize, and uncheck the
category.

I figured out the problem on my own. In Contacts, click on
View/Arrange By/Current View/By Category. Select all the contacts in
the category you want to remove. Right-click on the selected contacts
and click on Categories. Uncheck the category you want to eliminate.

(For some reason, if you do an Advanced Find for all the contacts in a
particular category and select all the contacts in that category, the
right-click menu doesn't contain the item Categories. That's the way
I tried it originally, and it wouldn't work.)
