Master Plan Project and problem with Check Out/In

V

Vit

Hi to everybody,
I’m trying to understand a problem with 2007 infrastructure (MS
Project Professional, MS Project Server, PWA).
I have saved and published a Master Plan Project, following these
steps:
- Opened MS Project Professional 2007
- Inserted the three projects that compose the Master Project (Insert -
Project...) (the projects were already published on PWA)
- Adjusted the links among the projects (to connect together)
- Saved like a new file on the Project Server
- Published the Master Plan Project
The problem is when I try to open the master project...
If I go to the PWA -> Project Centre -> open the project IN PWA, I
will view all the information of the master project; after that, if I
go back to the project server and I try to open the master project IN
Project Professional, I’m able to open a “read only” version, because
there is someone that already use it....
If I check on the PWA Server Settings -> Database Administration ->
Force Check in enterprise Objects, I will find that the master plan is
Check Out... (by myself!!!!!)
Why this happen only with the master plan???
The same thing happen if I open the project from MS Project
Professional, if I close it and re-open, I will not be able to make
change (cause I have to force Check in...)
What can be the problem??
It’s very strange that it happen only on the Master plan...
Maybe there is something wrong with the permission??
Thank you so much to everybody.
Bye
Vit

Hello Vit. You may have done this already but have you installed the latest
service packs for Project Server, WSS and MS Porject Pro? If not I would
recommend doing so and you may find the problem you are having may disappear.
