Master Slide Page Numbers

I have a Master Slide and a Page Layout Slide. Added the text box with # for
page number to Page Layout and checked the box to not number the first slide.
It didn't work. Any ideas

Actually the check box says don't show on title slide. So you must be using a
*slide master* instead of a *title master* for your first slide.

When you are in slide master view, click Insert New Title Master (it on the
Master View toolbar)

the template from our company and it's not one that is standard PowerPoint.

It did not work...Sandy Johnson thought that we had the Master Slide and not
the Title Slide...I didn't know how to create a new Title Slide using the
template. It is not a standard MS Powerpoint template. We got the
presentation from our company.
