max slides

Hi there,
Is there a maximum # of slides with PowerPoint 2000?
Anything after 255 brings cpu to 100% usage. I am using a W2K machine, 1 GB
RAM, 2.8 Ghz processor.
Thanks,
Calin

There is no set limit within PowerPoint. But you may encounter computer
limitations and audience patience...

Are you adding Slides or Master Slides? Or are you creating a new master
slide for each slide within your presentation?

I seem to remember that the limit on Master Slides was 512 (using both a
Slide Master and a Title master for each yields 256). However, for regular
slides I have not found a limit. In fact, as a fun test, I build a
presentation with over 50,000 slides to make sure it could be done.

By the way, do not expect high performance from a show with 50,000 slides --
it was a bit of a resource hog.
