maximum size of file in Notepad?

Does anyone know the maximum size of a file in Notepad? I've got files that
are added to automatically and I can't afford to lose any data.

64KB
You won't loose any data, because Notepad will simply refuse to open it and
you'll have to open it with Wordpad, Word or some other application.

The 64kb limit was removed a while ago - can't remember exactly when, I
think it was for NT4.0/2000.

I just opened a 3,600KB file in Notepad on my XPSP2 install, certainly.

The parent is correct in saying that you won't lose data anyway - just have
to open in a different package - assuming your writing applications can
handle the file size.

Cheers,
Matt.
