Merging dates into Publisher 2002

I'm running Publisher 2002 having previously run 2000. I
have a merge table that takes data from an Access 2000
query. Windows 2000 pro SP4 OS.

The merge contains date fields which work fine in 2000.
2002 shows them as mm/dd/yyyy:hh/mm/ss format, not what I
want and not as the dates appear in Access (dd-mmm-yyyy).

Does anybody know how to format data from a merge so that
it displays dates in a user friendly, UK way e.g. 4 Jul
2003?

This was a problem in the 1998 version of Publisher I
believe.

a) Convert the field to a text field
b) Use a MakeTable query to do the above in a different table
c) Export your database as a CSV file

Hi Ed

as I feared, 2002 is a step backwards compared with 2000
in this respect, not a dynamic solution when I am changing
the underlying data frequently. Do you think Microsoft
will fix this clitch soon?

Pub 2003. I am finding out on the Excel NG what is the cause of this. I
have all settings for region dates etc. etc 100% but it persists in showing
the dates the incorrect way.
